Die LeoSounds Pickups sind von mir in kompletter Handarbeit gefertigt und stellen eine individuelle Maßanfertigung dar. Sie bieten die Möglichkeit jede blasse Strat oder Tele in völlig neuem Soundgewand erklingen zu lassen und werten jede Billiggitarre um 100 Prozent auf.

Es bietet sich hier die Chance eine völlig individuelle Gitarre zu gestalten, daher werden meine Pickups auch gerne von Gitarrenbauern eingesetzt. Diese Pickups sind jeweils Unikate, da sie natürlich durch 100 Prozent Handarbeit leichten Schwankungen unterworfen sind.

Neue LeoSounds Endorser Crayfish

Die LeoSounds Endorser Moritz Maier und Patrik Westphal und der Rest der Frankfurter Jungs liefern mit der Vorab-Single zum neuen Album "Sticky Sweet Sins" (erscheint am 18.06.2010) einen radiotauglichen Rocksong im typischen CRAYFISH Sound ab. Travis TBC Custom Test in Grand gtrs

Travis-Backline geht mit einem Feuerwerk an neuen Gitarren-Modellen auf den Markt und läßt die alte Marke Travis-Bean neu aufleben. Ein aktueller Test der TBC Custom mit "Travis-Bean Vintage Pickups made by LeoSounds" kann in der April Ausgabe von Grand gtrs nachgelesen werden - weitere Tests folgen.

Travis setzt seit einiger Zeit für seine Spitzenmodelle auf die Qualität der Pickups aus unserem Haus. In Zusammenarbeit mit Travis ist auch ein exklusiver Travis-Bean Classic Humbucker entstanden, der weitestgehend dem alten Vorbild der Travis-Bean Humbucker entspricht. Klassische Basspickups gibt es jetzt auch aus unserer Manufaktur - die Pickups vom Typ Jazzbass und Precisionbass sind in Zusammenarbeit mit Hotwire-Bass entstanden und werden über Hotwire als Hotwire-Vintage-Pickups exklusiv vertrieben.

die Ergebnisse lassen sich hier Review PG oder hier Review PG html nachlesen. Der in den USA sehr bekannte Guitar-Gear Kritiker Douglas Baldwin hat die Vintage Player-56 und 66 Sätze einer eingehenden Prüfung unterzogen und kommt zu dem Ergebnis: ...had me playing far longer than required for mere product analysis – always a sign of a great product.....You may be hearing the sound of LeoSounds in your axe very soon ..... rating: excellent gear, exceeds specifications.

LeoSounds Vintage Player Pickups im Gitarre&Bass Test

Udo Pipper testete für die Ausgabe 08/2007 der Zeitschrift Gitarre&Bass die beiden Pickups aus der Vintage Player Classic Serie. Wir freuen uns über die hervorragende Bewertungen aus der Fachpresse.

G&B: "Das 1956 Vintage Player Set orientiert sich bis ins kleinste Detail an den historischen Vorbildern von Fender. Magnetmaterial, Wickeldraht und Bodenplatte entsprechen genau den klassischen Vorgaben. Sie beweisen, dass die vermeintliche Unvereinbarkeit von Twang und Wärme für Leosounds-Gründer Michael Pantleon kein Problem darstellt. Dieses PU-Set klingt unglaublich ausgewogen, offen und musikalisch.

Ebenso spektakulär fiel das Urteil über das Vintage Player 1966 Classic Set aus.
G&B: "Das 1966 Vintage Player Set zeigt den typischen Gray Bottom, den violetten Wickeldraht sowie die exakte Magnetlänge (staggered). Ein typischer Hendrix-Sound mit sehr packenden Höhen, aber immer angenehm und soft tönend.

G&B Pickup Test mit LeoSounds

Großer Gitarre&Bass Vintage Strat-Pickuptest (Ausgabe 03/2006)
Drei LeoSounds Sets waren mit in der Testauswahl von 25 Sets ingesamt.
Alle drei Sets wurden mit durchweg guten Kritiken versehen und beim
Preis-/Leistungs - Verhältnis besonders gewürdigt.

"My uncle, who's a pro guitarplayer, changed the pickups for me. He compared my upgraded strat with 2 of his Fender strats. (one from 64', one from 72').
There were a lot of diffent styles that he tried out (BB King, SRV, Buddy Guy, Jimi, Led Zeppelin, Free, Rory Gallagher, some slide-guitar and so on and so on ... ), and he compared them with every pickup one at a time.
He was really amazed how they competed that well. He couldn't stop playing at first, because he couldn't believe that such cheap pickups (they are really cheap if you compare them with other brands!) made such a big difference.
Another thing that surprised him was that my guitar, which has a multiplex body (it's a cheap guitar) sounded as good as his in ash and alder." - Anonymous on Harmony Central

Stratocaster 1962 ST Overwoundset
"The pickups sound strong, punchy, clear and are very touch sensitive. I'm not into all this noiseless stuff but having a RWRP middle PU doesn't hurt either. The only downside is, that the bridge pickup alone is a lot harsher than the other positions. On the other hand it sounds very nice in combination with the middle PU. So if you don't need the bridge PU alone these pickups are as good as any of the well known boutique products out there ... for a great price. IMO they are higher quality PUs than the Seymour Duncan SSL-1s for the reasons I described above. BTW: I ordered them with non staggered pole pieces for no extra charge ... delivery took less than a week for custom made PUs and the folks at LeoSounds are great!" - Herbert on Harmony Central

Telecaster MudCat set
"Those LeoSounds MudCat pickups - from www.leosounds.de - are GREAT: the neck pickup is very transparent (no mud at all) and has quite a bit of punch, the bridge pup is very ballsy and raunchy, fat, but still with quite a bit of twang; if usually P90s are described as half-way between humbuckers and single-coils, these ones could be described as half-way between P90s and Tele-single-coils. Perfect for rockabilly, blues, rootsy rock, can still do country (though LeoSounds have twangier vintage-style ones for that).
I usually play mostly clean, but with these I also like the dirty sounds - raunchy, gutsy, ballsy, aggressive, but not fizzly, buzzy, cutting - perfect.
The pickups also react very well to turning down the tone pot - I find the tone pot useless with most guitars, but here it gives quite a variety of sounds, turning it down on the neck pup with the amp on full power, I can get a great singing lead sound, but still with a bit of dirt, very bluesy, great." - RomanS on Harmony Central

Telecaster FatCat set (custom order)
"It is the best pickup I had in this guitar so far and it is unlikely that I try anything else. My experience with Vintage Specs Telecaster Bridge models is that most of them are too bright for me. Therefore I do not think that any of the boutique models from Fralin or Lollar would suit my taste. Michael is a great guy. I bought a different model (MudCat) from him through eBay and did not like it because it was way too bright for me. He almost went out of the way and offered to wind me a stronger pickup. GrowlDogs humbucker set
"This pickup delivers a great balanced sound. Very nice clean sounds. Even in high gain situations it's not noisy at all. Gives a wonderful defined distortion. Just think of Jim Matheos sound.
The low frequences are not as strong, what I think is of advantage. It does not get muddy and you're sound is very defined in the band situation. And just consider the incredible price.
